¡Las Vistas (y la Necesidad de un Buen Trago)!
- ¡Vistas Impresionantes!
- "Pool with view."
Accesibilidad, ¿De Verdad?

¡Descubre la Casa de tus Sueños en Middletown, Indonesia!¡Ay, Dios mío! Okay, here we go. This… this is not going to be your meticulously crafted, color-coded itinerary. This is life, baby. And life, especially travel, is messy. We’re talking Skyline Hotel, US of A. Prepare for the ride.
Día 1: Arrival & The Great Burger Incident (aka: Hambre!)
14:00 - Arrival at Skyline Hotel (Aprox.). Okay, first impression: it's… a hotel. Big. That lobby smells suspiciously like… air freshener desperately trying to cover up something. But hey, the front desk lady (Susana, bless her heart) was sweet as can be. She even put me in a room facing… the parking lot. Glamorous. But, you know, whatever. Luggage dropped. Reconnaissance mission initiated.
14:30 - THE QUEST FOR FOOD. I’m starving. Travel always does this to me. Decided to try the hotel restaurant. BIG mistake. Ordered a burger. And, Dios mío, it was… a disaster. The bun was stale, the patty tasted like it had been pre-chewed by a disgruntled badger, and the fries… limp casualties of a deep-fryer tragedy. I think I ate maybe… three fries? I considered calling for a refund (because, honestly, three fries), but I didn't want to cause a scene. Plus, I'm a terrible complainer. So, I suffered in silence and cursed the burger gods. Hambre, I tell you! Pure, unadulterated hunger.
15:00 - Desperate Measures: Grocery Store Blitz. Needed sustenance. Made a break for a nearby grocery store. Bought a bag of chips, a box of cookies (chocolate chip, the comfort food of champions!), and a gallon of water. Fueling up for the… whatever comes next.
16:00 - Room Re-evaluation & the Television of Sadness. Back in the glamorous parking lot view room. Trying to decide if I should watch something on the TV. But the first channel I chose was a local channel showing a terrible infomercial about… a juicer. My reaction to something awful on TV? I couldn't possibly describe it in polite company. The walls are starting to close in. I opened the bag of chips.
17:00 - The Internet of Procrastination. Okay, I should be planning something. But I just can't. Managed to spend one hour scrolling through social media, watching cat videos, and judging strangers' outfits online. Productivity level: zero. Guilt level: moderately high. Am I a bad traveler? Probably.
18:00 - Shower of lukewarm water. At this point, this is all I can say.
Día 2: Downtown Delights & The Museum of Mild Disappointment
09:00 - Breakfast, Attempt Number Two (and the Toast Tragedy). Went back to the hotel restaurant, because… well, I'm resourceful. Ordered toast with jam, because, you know, safe and simple. Wrong. The toast was so thick it could double as a building material. I spent a good ten minutes trying to saw through it with a butter knife. The jam was… well, it was jam. At least there's coffee. A strong, caffeinated hug.
10:00 - Downtown exploration! Took a taxi to downtown. It looked nice but not wow!
11:00 - The Museum of… Meh. Decided to hit up a local museum. It was… fine. Lots of artifacts. Lots of information. But none of it really grabbed me. You know, the kind of place you wander through, nodding politely, but secretly wondering when it's acceptable to leave to go get ice cream? I needed ice cream.
12:00 - Ice-Cream, Ah! Ice-cream, good!
15:00 - Restaurant Search and the "Almost" Disaster: So I'm getting good in this city. I decided to look for a authentic place to eat! But I got lost! I needed to get back to the hotel.
16:00 - Nap of the Gods. Back in my room. Slept.
18:00 - Another restaurant, final attempt! Went to eat at some place near my hotel. The food was okay, and the place was a delight! The only thing I can say is… I made some friends there!
Día 3: Departure & Reflections (or, The Search for Meaning)
08:00 - The Breakfast Finale & the Existential Toast Crisis, part II. Yes, back to the restaurant. And yes, I ordered toast. I’m clearly a glutton for punishment. This time, the toast wasn't too bad, but the butter was frozen solid. I’m starting to think the hotel restaurant is some sort of elaborate test of my patience. Or maybe a cry for help. Who knows.
09:00 - Packing & Mild Panic. Packing always triggers a wave of anxiety. Did I forget anything? Did I buy enough snacks? Did I actually see anything of note on this trip? The answer to all of those questions is… maybe.
10:00 - The Lobby of Goodbye. Checked out. Said goodbye to Susana. She smiled. I think she pitied me.
11:00 - Airport Bound. Taxi to the airport. The end.
Reflections:
Okay, so… was it a good trip? ¿Quién sabe? I experienced hunger, mediocre food, and the crushing banality of a parking lot view. But I also ate chips, ate ice-cream, met some nice people, and survived. And maybe, just maybe, that’s enough. Travel isn't always about perfectly curated experiences and Instagram-worthy photos. Sometimes, it's about the imperfections, the unexpected burger disasters, and the quiet moments of wondering, "What the heck am I doing?" And those moments, the messy, imperfect ones… those are the ones I'll probably remember. ¡Hasta luego, Skyline Hotel! (And maybe next time… I'll pack more snacks.)
Literalmente, me quedé embobado.
¡me comí tres!
¡Media hora!
O, si eres valiente, ¡lleva tu propio router! (No, en serio, no lo hagas. Te van a mirar raro).
*conveniente*. A veces te tocará caminar, pero a veces, te sorprenderá gratamente. ¡Prepárate para la aventura!
