Yo, la primera vez, confié en las reseñas. "¡A 10 minutos caminando de la playa!". Vale… 10 minutos… en línea recta. O sea, si fueras un dron. En la realidad, con el calor, el empedrado, y mi torpeza natural… ¡eran 20! Y al volver… 30 (¡y con un buen dolor de pies!). Así que, planificación, mi querida. Planificación.
El desayuno... ¡Cuéntame del desayuno! ¿Es verdad que es el desayuno de dioses?
¡El desayuno! ¡El desayuno es clave! Aquí sí que hay algo de verdad en la leyenda... casi. El buffet es generoso, con opciones para todos los gustos. Fruta fresca, yogur griego con miel (¡el paraíso!), huevos (de todas las formas posibles), pan… ¡ay, el pan! Era… bueno. Normal. No el pan de mi abuela, pero bueno.
La vista desde el comedor, eso sí, ¡es espectacular! Desayunar con el sol, el mar… Ahí sí que te sientes un poco dios/diosa. Pero… la gente. Oh, la gente. A veces, el buffet se convierte en una jungla. Colas, niños corriendo, gente que se sirve (¡y se vuelve a servir!) el mismo plato... Y ese momento en que te das cuenta de que te has dejado el zumo de naranja a la otra punta… ¡y vas a tener que luchar por volver a conseguirlo! Así que, si eres de los que se estresan con facilidad… ¡llega temprano! O prepárate para la batalla.
La piscina… ¿es tan increíble como se ve en las fotos? ¿Y hay demasiados niños?
La piscina… ¡es un espectáculo! Un oasis de tranquilidad… cuando no hay nadie. Y eso, créeme, es poco frecuente. Las fotos son hermosas, con ese agua turquesa y las tumbonas perfectas. La realidad… Bueno, dependiendo de la temporada, es como meterse en un club infantil a las 3 de la tarde.
En serio, hay niños. Muchos niños. Chapoteando, gritando, jugando al balón… No es que tenga nada en contra de los niños (¡la mayoría de las veces!), pero si buscas paz y sosiego… Quizás deberías buscar un hotel solo para adultos. O armarte de paciencia y un buen libro. Porque la piscina, en sí, es maravillosa. Pero la experiencia… puede ser un poco… caótica. Como mi vida, en general.
Anecdota personal: Intenté tomarme una foto “instagrammeable” en la piscina. Con un sombrero, un cocktail, y una pose casual. El sombrero, el cocktail, la pose… todo perfecto. Hasta que un niño, corriendo, me salpicó con un chorro colosal. Resultado: foto arruinada, sombrero empapado, y yo… ¡furiosa! (pero luego me reí, claro).
¿Qué tal el personal? ¿Son amables? ¿Y se hablan bien el español?
El personal… ¡aquí hay que darle un aplausito! En general, son amables, serviciales… y se esfuerzan por ayudarte. El inglés, claro, es la lengua franca. El español… bueno, depende. Algunos hablan un poquito, otros… nada.
Yo, que soy fatal con los idiomas, me las apañé con un poco de inglés, gestos y Google Translate. Y con una sonrisa, ¡siempre! La sonrisa es universal. Y, a veces, un poco de suerte. Tuve una vez un problema con el aire acondicionado (¡horror!), y el chico de mantenimiento, que no hablaba español, se esforzó muchísimo por entender mi drama. Al final, lo arregló.
