¡Hotel Bahia Pollensa: ¡Paraíso Mediterráneo te Espera!
¡Hotel Bahia Pollensa: ¡Paraíso Mediterráneo te Espera! - A Review from the Trenches (and with Free Wi-Fi!)
¡Ay, Dios mío, dónde empiezo! Trying to cram a review of the Hotel Bahia Pollensa into one neat little box feels…well, ridiculous. This place has layers, people, like an onion you'd happily not cry over because instead you're soaking up the Mediterranean sun. Buckle up, porque this is going to be a bumpy, honest, and probably slightly disorganized ride. You've been warned.
Primero, lo básico (y porque, let's be real, we all gotta know):
- Accessibility: ¡Bravo! They genuinely seem to get it. Elevator, facilities for disabled guests…I saw ramps, which, believe me, is not to be taken for granted. Important for anyone with mobility issues, si?
- Internet: ¡GLORIA! Free Wi-Fi in every room! And it actually works. Bless. Plus, Wi-Fi in public areas, and even some LAN options. Needed to catch up on emails/binge-watch something? You're golden.
- Cleanliness and Safety: Okay, this is where things get serious. I'm a bit of a germaphobe (don't judge!), and I was genuinely impressed. Hand sanitizer everywhere, staff masked up, and the constant, meticulous cleaning felt… reassuring. They've got all the hygiene certifications. And the anti-viral cleaning products? Much better than a whiff of bleach.
- Rooms (and all the little things): Okay, let's talk about MY room. The vista… absolutely breathtaking. And those blackout curtains? ¡Perfecto! Slept like a baby… or a well-pampered adult, more like. Every room has all kinds of things, like air conditioning (a must!), mini bars, and all the fixings like bathrobes and slippers. The little touches were great like the complimentary tea. Plus, I loved the window that opens… fresh air is the best!
Ahora, lo importante: ¡The Experience!
- The Pool: A Love Story. Forget the Louvre, forget the Colosseum. The pool with a view at the Bahia Pollensa is where my soul now resides. Seriously, the view. The sparkling water. The promise of a cocktail… It's a siren song, I tell you. I spent hours (and I mean hours) lying poolside, alternating between swimming, sunbathing, and pretending I was auditioning for a glamorous European travel commercial. No, really. I even went for one very brave body scrub (more on that later!).
- Spa/Sauna…¡and me!:… The spa! Oh, the spa. I’m not normally a "go to the spa" kind of person, I prefer a pint of beer and a good book. But… I caved. And I am so glad I did. I braved the body scrub, and for a moment, I felt about 20 years younger. The sauna/steam room, the foot bath, the massage… it was all pure, unadulterated, "treat yo’self" bliss. Honestly, I may never come back. I could stay permanently.
- The Food!: ¡Madre mía, la comida! Forget that "diet" you were thinking about. The breakfast buffet was a war zone of deliciousness. Mountains of fresh fruit, pastries to die for (the ensaimada was a revelation), and eggs cooked every which way. Oh, and they have Asian cuisine too. A la carte restaurant is available so you can take your time. The only downside? I ate so much I almost needed a forklift to get back to my sun lounger. And the coffee shop? Perfect for a quick caffeine fix. The poolside bar is perfect for the ultimate experience.
El servicio…¡y las pequeñeces!: (The service and the "little things")
- Staff: Angels in Disguise: The staff? Amazing. Friendly, helpful, and they actually seemed to care. From the doorman to the folks at the front desk, everyone was lovely. They even speak many languages – a lifesaver for my atrocious Spanish.
- Little Perks: Luggage storage? Check. Concierge service? Check. Daily housekeeping? Check. They thought of everything. And the fact that they offer a doctor/nurse on call? That's invaluable.
The "Not-So-Perfect" Bits (because, honesty):
- The Price… sometimes: Look, it's not a budget holiday. But the quality warrants the price.
- The Kids (maybe): They are family-friendly, and there is a kid's area, so if you're not a fan of kids, you may want a specific period.
Final Verdict (in case you skipped to the end):
¡El Hotel Bahia Pollensa is a gem! A place to recharge, relax, and indulge in a truly unforgettable Mediterranean experience. It’s got the location, the facilities, the service. It's a place where you can truly escape.

¡Radisson Nashville Aeropuerto: ¡El Hotel MÁS CERCA del Aeropuerto que te ENCANTARÁ!¡Ay, Dios mío! This trip to the Hotel Bahía Pollensa… it feels like it’s been a lifetime in the planning, and now, finally, here we are. Or rather, I'm here. My partner, bless his heart, is probably still trying to untangle the charger cords in the luggage. Let’s see if I can even remember the itinerary – and remember, this is more a feeling than a rigid schedule.
Hotel Bahía Pollensa: A Messy, Wonderful Adventure (Probably)
Day 1: Arrival, Anticipation, and the Surprisingly Delicious Sandwich
- Morning (ish): Arrive at Palma de Mallorca Airport. After surviving the airport chaos (seriously, why are there always so many families traveling with ALL of their belongings?!), we navigate the rental car. Let me tell you, the automatic transmission in that tiny Fiat felt like a betrayal. It’s a good thing I enjoy a challenge, because figuring out parking in Pollensa was a sport in itself. Arrived at the hotel, and the view from my balcony just made me drop everything that had to do with the Fiat on the ground.
- Afternoon: Check-in. Immediately, the salty air hits you. The kind that makes you want to breathe in the whole Mediterranean. The hotel is lovely, but it's the vibe that’s gonna sell this trip. This beautiful, old, slightly worn hotel, which gives it more character than the new hotels, has a pool, a bar, and more Spanish charm in its walls than I have in my entire being. So, I immediately dropped myself on the most available and beautiful deck chair to observe the others.
- Lunch: Okay, confession. After battling the airplane food, I was starving. I ordered a bocadillo de jamón y queso from the bar. And oh, my goodness. I think it was the best sandwich I’ve ever eaten. Seriously. Simple, perfect, a warm hug in bread form. This simple sandwich took the edge of my hunger away.
- Late Afternoon/Evening: Stroll along the beach. The water is that turquoise. It's like a painting. We walk, we laugh, we debate whether that cloud looks like a giant bunny (it totally does). We find a little café, and I get my first caña (small beer). Pure bliss. Then, back to the hotel to unpack and prepare for dinner.
- Dinner: The buffet. It’s not always my favorite, but the paella looks incredible. We'll see if it lives up to expectations. And the wine… well, let’s just say I’m practicing my Spanish. Mostly ordering more wine, but still.
Day 2: Pollensa Town, a Monastery, and the Accidental Nap
- Morning: A generous breakfast, including a tostada con tomate y aceite (toast with tomato and olive oil) that gave me the energy to finally explore the town of Pollensa. Now, I'd read about the Calvari Steps, but honestly? Nothing could have prepared me for the climb. It’s a long one. A really long one. By the time I reached the top, I swear I saw my life flash before my eyes, but the view from the chapel… stunning. Absolutely worth it. And the fact that I did it with the smile on my face is a miracle.
- Afternoon: We drove to the Monastery of Lluc. Now, I'm not particularly religious, but the sheer peacefulness of the place was something else. It felt like a different world. This whole place felt like another world. We wandered around, listened to the silence, and felt our worries slip away, even though it had a gift shop and a lot of tourists.
- Late Afternoon: I should have known. The heat, the wine, the tranquility… I fell asleep in the lounge chair on my balcony. A full-blown, beautiful nap. Woke up feeling refreshed. That's the vacation for you.
- Evening: Restaurant in Pollensa Port (apparently, it's the place). Seafood, sangria, and the best view. The conversations were light, and the food was pretty good. My companion ordered a pizza, and I’m still trying to figure out why.
Day 3: Beach Day Bliss… and a Little Bit of a Meltdown
- Morning: Beach day! I found the perfect spot, set up camp with my towel and book, and dove in. The water is crystal clear. I swear I could see fish swimming around my feet. The only problem? My book was way more interesting than I thought.
- Afternoon: Sun and sand… until I started noticing the little things. A little bit of sand getting into the swimsuit. A loud child. The heat. The pressure from the sun. All of a sudden, I hit the wall. I felt it. I packed up and went back to the hotel, feeling quite grumpy.
- Late Afternoon: I took a shower. The smell of the soap was heavenly, and I sat on the balcony with a vino tinto, watching the sunset and letting myself recover. That's the beauty of vacations, right? You can be human. You can be imperfect. And you can still recover.
- Evening: Quick dinner. The food was okay, but afterwards, the conversation with my companion was what I really needed. We talked, we laughed, and I eventually stopped scowling on my face. We agreed to watch a movie when we came back.
Day 4: Driving, exploring and the Best Ice Cream Ever
- Morning: We decide to drive through Formentor, which can be a pain, but the views are amazing, and the road is well-designed. The drive was a little bit scary. Winding roads with narrow turns are not my cup of tea, so I am grateful that my companion was driving: he is an expert. The views were worth it, though.
- Afternoon: We stop for lunch in a local restaurant. I order a paella which is much better than the one at the hotel. We buy some souvenirs (of course), and have some drinks.
- Late Afternoon: Ice cream time. This ice cream shop has the most amazing flavors, for example, there are flavors I've never seen before such as mango and coconut. I devoured it. I didn’t take a picture. I was too busy enjoying it, the best ice cream of my life.
- Evening: Back at the hotel, where we decide to go to bed early to be ready to go.
Day 5: Departure… and a promise
- Morning: Pack. The hardest part. It's already hot. Eat breakfast, and then, check-out. I spend some time looking at the sea wishing I could put it in my pocket and take it with me.
- Afternoon: Head to the airport. The drive is shorter. We drop off the car, and then… fly back home, remembering the days on this island and already planning how to come back.
- Departure: We're back home, with a suitcase full of memories. There is a promise. We both agree. We will come back.
Final Thoughts:
This trip was, well, a trip. It had its ups and downs, its moments of bliss, its moments of grumpiness. I laughed, I cried, I ate way too many bocadillos. And you know what? It was perfect. Because life, just like travel, is messy, imperfect, and utterly, wonderfully human. I'm already dreaming of my next visit.
¡No te arrepentirás!
Mi consejo: ¡No seas tímido! Prueba de todo. Y si algo no te gusta... pues a otra cosa, mariposa.
¡Gritos!
